Bingo is in Kentucky with his dad today, so we won't get to celebrate the Valentine's Day we had originally planned... And the plans were surprisingly good, too! We were going to the Museum of Modern Art in Ann Arbor, then to grab dinner at Ayaka (Japanese) and to see The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Oh well. Bingo offered to reschedule, but it's Valentine's Day... it's fine to celebrate when you're able, but not really worth rescheduling... Bingo, though, because he's my beloved and has stuck with me through another Valentine's Day has earned himself some sappy, love-inspired treats...
There is, of course, a batch of the cookies I've decided to call Sweaty Kitten Kisses (because they're sweet and salty, get it?) - they're white chocolate dipped Golden Oreos with pink sea salt sprinkles. Not the prettiest, but not awful, either, see:
My friend Chris was super awesome and gave me a fancy-pants velvet box to put them in so they look extra Valentine-y. If they'd turned out a little prettier, Bingo might even accuse me of having bought them. But I didn't. I made them with lots and lots of looove.
And, of course, like I do every holiday, I made him a CD... He won't appreciate the music as much as I adore it, but every once in a while I'll hit on a song that he actually likes... There was Chuck Ragan - Valentine (which he got Chuck to play right after he proposed to me on stage), and he's become quite a fan of Tim Barry's Avoiding Catatonic Surrender, which was on another CD I made him...
