we're calculus geniuses
tonight i met with my classmate grace... grace was bold enough to introduce herself on the first day of class (if it were left up to me, i'd likely still be sitting in silence talking to no one). we made an agreement to meet weekly to go over calc homework, in an effort to get us both through the class... we're up to meeting 3 times weekly, at a coffee shop near campus... we spent a good 3 hours doing homework tonight, oh, and talking and bitching. i really couldn't have asked for a better study-pal, since we're really quite similar and she doesn't even think it's weird that i high-five her everytime we get an answer correct... or, at least, if she does think it's weird, she still does it... i'm proud to say that we tackled section 11.4 tonight and got through it pretty damn swimmingly... only minor mistakes that were easily caught and remedied... towards the end of our study session a woman and her husband sat down near us... hearing us talk about the equation of the line tangent to... and derivitives and whatever else, she said to her husband "i'm so glad i don't have to do that anymore". we got to chatting and she ended up telling us that she was a music major so it was ok if she was a "math retard". and as the words fell from her mouth, they looked just as weird as if she'd said "in my dayjob as a lion-tamer i only require the slightest bit of nuclear physics knowledge".
