weekend recap - a weecap

had a good weekend, although, as usual, it's over far too soon... friday night i grabbed dinner with kristine and matt and then brandon joined us back at casa del k&b for cards... after about 17 hours of playing hearts we retired to the screening room to watch the original night of the living dead. creeparific. by the time i got home, though, i was well exhausted and didn't even dream about zombies...

saturday afternoon i met up with autumn and, as per usual we laughed our guts out. as we were cruising through my 'hood so i could pick up my sweatshirt (because it's wonderfully fall-y around these parts. hurrah!) she commented about the "ghetto" house i wanted her to buy... it's not ghetto at all, it's a big white victorian with a nice yard and blue and purple trim... she pointed out another house and i agreed that it was pretty ghetto. she then made the joke that i should really move out of the ghetto and into her neighborhood (way more ghetto than my neighborhood, fyi). we stopped at a light and when the light turned green the rusted out car in front of us stalled. then a car came around the corner with an upside down couch strapped haphazardly to the roof and a big overstuffed easychair strapped sort of to the trunk. ok, that's pretty ghetto. point for autumn.

we ended up getting some thai food and then heading off to a movie (hurrah for spontaneity). we saw little miss sunshine, which i can't possibly recommend enough. i adored it. autumn loved it so much that she inexplicably bawled through the credits (no, really). there were parts that were so funny i literally couldn't catch my breath because i was laughing so hard... there were also really sweet touching parts that brought a little lump to my throat...

today i managed to track down the guy who's become my new calculus tutor and did some homework at borders... sunday's homework day, in case you forgot... although, i guess saturday is going to become homework day from now on, since that's when i scheduled tutoring... and now, it's a perfect sunday ngiht because i have the windows open, bringing an autumn chill into the condo while the jesus and mary chain sing in my ear and a curled up dub sleeps at my feet. i'd take a picture except it would only disturb him...
