Professor McCheese started class tonight by telling us that if we have complaints (duh) we should not go straight to the department chair and complain, because that just makes him (the professor, not the chair) angry and no one, not the chair or the president of the university can make him change the way he works in his classroom. according to him, he has no boss.
see, it's not just me... everyone thinks he sucks. and we're paying a grand for the privilege of being insulted and not taught to... did i mention the 60% failure rate he so proudly told us about the first day of class?? if more than half of your students fail, you're doing something wrong.

Your prof. sounds like an ass. I see no problem with going over his head. That's how you resolve problems with people - you talk to them first and then go above them if you can't resolve things. You guys told him you had problems but he basically said "tough shit" so why wouldn't you go to the dept.?
unfortunately, if i drop this class, they offer no other night sections of this class, and without it, i lose a entire semester (my university has all kind sof requirements that dictate what order you must take classes in). So, in order to get through it, i hired a private tutor. i'll get through it one way or another. seriously, though, i wish i could invite everyone to my class for just one night...
wouldn't it be easier just to get a degree in Dublinology. I mean, you're sure to pass those classes.
