halfway to the weekend
i was on my home from work today and called autumn, who'd been home with her darling hadybug all day... it was well over a hundred and from the sound of both of their voices over the phone, some heat-induced crankiness was setting in... i suggested to autumn that we could meet up at the play place at the mall where it would be nice and cool and she could relax while hayden got some of his pent up energy out... so off we went and boy was i excited as i approched those mall doors... remembering distinctly the rush of cold air that hit me as a kid, back before we had central air at home... i pulled the door and felt hot sticky yuckiness. what? ok, so it's a double set of doors, through the next set will undoubtedly be the rush of cool air i was anticipating. i yank open the next set and... it's still icky sticky yucky mucky. what the hizzee? this is the mall! it's supposed to be FREEZING in the mall. it wasn't... it was, i would guess, a balmy 85 degrees in there... and there were kids on top of kids on top of kids, making more heat. we stuck around for a couple of hours and then bailed when hayden claimed a boy hit him... we asked him which one and he would wave his hand in the general direction of ALL the kids and say "that one"... lol
