i've had better weekends...

my grandma passed away this weekend... and while, under the circumstances, it was for the best, it's still a hard reality to grasp. my other grandma's health is failing too... for her dementia seems to be settling in at an alarming pace... in a matter of weeks she went from having her wits entirely about her to needing to be cared for like a baby and not recognizing her own son...

if that wasn't enough of a blow, i spent this evening at a going away party for one of my closest friends... the reality of her and her girls moving 1200 miles away hadn't really hit me until this week... and when i think about our noisy trio (me, autumn, bridget) being separated, i don't really know how to cope... lest it go unsaid, i'll miss her tremendously...

"lucky seven"

after i initially posted this picture, i went back and looked at it for a minute... then i totally started bawling as i realized that the people in this picture are more my family than most of the people with whom i actually share a bloodline...

Bridget and her marbles are so lucky to have friends like you and Autumn. Also, I'm so sorry about your Grandma. I didn't know. I would have said something yesterday at the party.

When you have known people for half your life it just seems natural that the bond between them grows stronger. I am sad to be moving away from you guys but I know that our sisterhood is stronger than any friendship we have ever shared. I love that picture. I can't wait to get to Florida and get mine posted!
